Research Technologist I
Zinhle joined CHIL in September 2015. She is a Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)-registered medical technician in Microbiology and has a BSc in Microbiology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). She started her career working for 4 years in diagnostic pathology laboratory procedures in microbiology at the National Health Laboratory service (NHLS), where she received and processed samples and performed equipment maintenance and QC in a busy TB laboratory. From 2011-2015, Zinhle worked as a research assistant at the KwaZulu-Natal Research Institute for Tuberculosis and HIV (K-RITH), gaining further experience in BSL3 work practices and processing PBMC from blood and tissue samples for flow cytometry analysis.
